Faith Expressed in Worship

Hi Soul 🌻 

Be still. Be attentive. Be present.

"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10

Take a moment to pause before reading.

Set aside the need to rush.

Set aside the need to understand everything.

Simply become present.

For worship begins not with our words, but with our awareness that God is already here.

I’m learning that the Byzantine tradition reminds us that worship is far more than something we attend.

This is what I appreciate; that it is a way of seeing, a way of living, and a way of participating in the very life of God in our daily lives.

Through beauty, silence, icons, incense, music, gesture, and prayer, we are gradually formed into people who recognize that heaven is already breaking into earth.
